A Film? From Turin?

"A Servant to Two Masters" Promotional Trailer

This was the promotional trailer for our "A Servant to Two Masters' production in November 2006, and was so successful it brought us praise from the press for our marketing acumen.

It features the full cast of the production in a spoof 1920's silent movie style, which was in itself a throwback to the commedia style featured in the play. With modern music added to create a timeless piece, you get something that looks modern and old at the same time - something we aimed for in the production.

Proving rehearsals should never be sneezed at

Creating the Sneeze

A highlight of our popular show 'One Evening in Russia' was our finale - our own particular take on Chekhov's short story 'The Sneeze' - all done in silent comedy style to the music of Tchaikovsky. The action takes place at the Royal Ballet and involves a low ranking government official sneezing on the bald head of his superior officer.

How he makes amends is the crux of this amusing piece to it's final balletic conclusion!

This film shows us in rehearsal as we pieced this together. It's not the final result, but shows the steps we took to bring it to life.

A 1 hour set build in 1 minute

Two Hats on Tour: The Set Build

One of the joys (!) of going on tour is the realisation that you need to build and take down the set every single night. Thankfully it gets both easier and quicker as the tour progresses and we all get into a routine.

On the first night of the tour at a small village hall in Puddleston in Hereford, we set a video camera running as we put up the set. The one hour set build is speeded up and shown in a one minute clip to give you an idea of how it was done.
